Cloud Overview

The Mirox-Cloud is the central platform that brings every connected installation together. It aggregates data from your distributed plants, runs the analytics that would be impractical at the edge, and delivers the monitoring, management, and reporting you work with day to day.

Architecture

The Mirox-Cloud is built as a cloud-native platform with independent, horizontally scalable services. This design gives you:

  • Dynamic Scaling: Resources adjust automatically to demand
  • High Availability: Operations continue even when individual components fail
  • Zero-Downtime Updates: New features roll out without interrupting your sessions
  • Multi-Tenancy: Multiple organizations served with isolated data and configurations
  • External Integration: Connections to the third-party services and APIs you rely on

Core Capabilities

Data Aggregation and Storage

The platform receives continuous data streams from all connected Mirox-Agents deployed at renewable energy installations. This data includes:

  • Real-time metrics from inverters, meters, and sensors
  • Digital twin model states and predictions
  • Device connectivity and health information
  • Access control events and security logs
  • Diagnostic information and system checks

All time-series data is stored in specialized databases optimized for high-throughput writes and efficient querying across time ranges.

Advanced Analytics

The platform performs analysis that would be impractical at the edge:

  • Cross-Installation Analysis: Compare performance across multiple parks
  • Portfolio Optimization: Identify improvement opportunities across entire portfolios
  • Anomaly Detection: Recognize unusual patterns that may indicate problems
  • Trend Analysis: Track long-term performance and degradation
  • Financial Modeling: Calculate returns, revenue, and economic performance

Multi-Tenant Management

The platform supports complex organizational structures:

  • Organizations: Multiple companies with independent data isolation
  • Portfolios: Collections of parks with aggregated analytics
  • Parks: Individual renewable energy installations
  • User Management: Role-based access control and permissions
  • Collaboration: Secure cooperation between different organizations

User Interfaces

The platform provides web-based interfaces for every task:

  • Dashboards: Real-time monitoring with customizable views
  • Digital Twin Visualization: Interactive models of your installations
  • KPI Displays: Key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
  • Report Generation: Automated reporting for various stakeholders
  • Event and Ticket Management: Detected events plus the human follow-up workflow

AI Assistance

A conversational AI assistant and guided wizards help you operate the platform:

  • Chat Assistant: Ask questions about your plants and data in plain language
  • Onboarding Wizards: Guided flows for adding plants, verifying information, and uploading files
  • Organization AI Configuration: Administrators choose the AI provider and track usage

Billing and Market

The platform also handles the commercial side of running your plants:

  • Market and Tariffs: Per-plant market configuration and feed-in tariffs (Germany/EEG-focused today)
  • Accounting and Billing: Billing contacts, electronic contract signing, invoices, and subscriptions

Integration and Export

External systems connect to the Mirox-Cloud through:

  • REST APIs: Programmatic access to data and configuration
  • Prometheus Integration: Metrics export for external monitoring tools
  • Report API: Automated report generation and retrieval
  • Data Export: Bulk data extraction for analysis

Deployment Architecture

Cloud Infrastructure

The Mirox-Cloud runs on resilient cloud infrastructure with the following characteristics:

Isolated Services:

  • Each service runs in its own isolated, reproducible runtime environment
  • Consistent behavior across development, staging, and production

Orchestration:

  • Deployment and scaling are fully automated
  • Automatic failover and self-healing keep the platform available
  • Load balancing distributes work across service instances
  • Resources are allocated based on actual demand

Storage Systems:

  • Time-series database for metrics and sensor data
  • Relational database for configuration and user data
  • Object storage for media files and large datasets
  • Message broker for asynchronous communication

Deployment Options

Organizations can choose from several deployment models based on their requirements, infrastructure capabilities, and licensing:

Multi-Tenant SaaS (Recommended)

Multiple customers share a robust, scalable cloud infrastructure:

  • Cost-Effective: Shared resources significantly reduce per-customer costs
  • Zero Maintenance: All infrastructure, updates, and operations are handled by the service provider
  • Automatic Updates: New features and improvements deployed regularly
  • Rapid Onboarding: New installations can be added and configured immediately
  • High Availability: Built-in redundancy and failover capabilities
  • Proven Reliability: Battle-tested infrastructure serving numerous customers

Ideal for:

  • Standard monitoring and management requirements
  • Organizations seeking minimal operational overhead
  • Cost-conscious deployments
  • Installations where shared infrastructure is acceptable

Preferred Option

This is our most widely used and recommended deployment model, offering the best balance of cost, performance, and ease of use.

Dedicated Cloud Instance

A dedicated cloud deployment exclusively for a single organization:

  • Complete Data Isolation: Full separation from other customers at infrastructure level
  • Custom Configuration: Tailored to specific organizational requirements
  • Compliance Support: Meets strict regulatory requirements (KRITIS, financial sector, utilities)
  • SLA Guarantees: Dedicated support and custom availability commitments
  • Resource Guarantees: Reserved compute and storage resources
  • Custom Scaling: Infrastructure sized specifically for your needs

Ideal for:

  • Critical infrastructure (KRITIS) installations
  • Organizations with strict data sovereignty requirements
  • Large portfolios requiring guaranteed dedicated resources
  • Regulatory compliance requirements (financial institutions, utilities)

Enterprise Contract Required

This deployment option requires an Enterprise contract and is tailored for organizations with specific isolation or compliance needs.

Hybrid Deployment

Cloud-hosted services with customer-managed data storage endpoints:

  • Customer-Controlled Storage: All data storage endpoints (databases, object storage, time-series data) hosted and managed by customer
  • Cloud-Hosted Services: Application logic, APIs, and processing run in our managed cloud
  • Compatible Storage Types: Requires compatible storage solutions (relational database, S3-compatible object storage, time-series database)
  • Data Sovereignty: Complete control over data location and management
  • Flexible Integration: Connect to existing customer infrastructure

Ideal for:

  • Organizations with existing robust data infrastructure
  • Strict data residency requirements with technical capabilities
  • Organizations that want to leverage cloud services while controlling data storage
  • Regulated industries requiring on-premises data storage

Enterprise Contract Required

This advanced deployment option requires an Enterprise contract and significant technical expertise to manage customer-provided storage infrastructure.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Customer is responsible for providing robust, highly available storage infrastructure
  • You are solely responsible for any data loss due to storage infrastructure issues on your side
  • Requires highly technical capabilities to maintain compatible storage endpoints
  • Customer must ensure storage performance meets service requirements

On-Premise Deployment

Complete independent installation of the service infrastructure:

  • Full Independence: Completely independent of the cloud infrastructure
  • Total Control: Full control over all infrastructure, updates, and operations
  • Air-Gapped Option: Can operate in isolated networks without internet connectivity
  • Custom Hardware: Deploy on your own hardware or private cloud
  • Self-Managed: Complete responsibility for operations, updates, and maintenance

Ideal for:

  • Organizations with strong technical operations teams
  • Air-gapped or highly restricted network environments
  • Complete independence from cloud services required
  • Organizations with existing container orchestration infrastructure
  • Environments where external connectivity is limited or prohibited

Pro License Required

This self-hosted option requires at least a Pro license and significant technical expertise to deploy and maintain.

Technical Requirements

  • Requires significant technical expertise in container orchestration and microservices
  • Customer responsible for all infrastructure, backups, high availability, and disaster recovery
  • Customer responsible for applying updates and security patches
